Just got this brand new Gibson Les Paul Studio 50's Tribute Worn Honey Burst Humbucker guitar. These are amazing value coming in at about one third of the price of the Gib LP Standard. The difference is this doesn't have the fancy finish it's cut back to the bare essentials. It's the same piece of wood same Gibson pickups, nut, hardware as the Standard. As far as I can tell it plays as well as any other current production Gibson. I certainly don't feel it's holding me back. I hope you enjoy the blues jam !
I've added pickup covers and 'speed' knobs. The stock pickups are bridge, Gibson 498T and neck, Gibson 490R. Strings are changed to 009-042. The guitar is played through a Line6 PODxt directly recorded into the video sound track.

  • i was looking at this guitar on thomann, the honeyburst one but i don't like the p90's, did yours have p90's when it came and did you replace them with the humbuckers? if so tell me how because i don't want to have to get mini humbuckers

  • @BarelyScratched This one is the 50's Tribute Humbucker version before they changed the spec to 'dark back'. The 'dark back' version with humbuckers is still available at Thomann I believe check the website.

  • Great vid. looking into getting this. can you send me the link from where you bought it? on GC i saw that the pickups didnt have a cover. did you replace them?

  • @TheSnowboarder114 - more details in the video comments

I bought the guitar from Thomann de the nearest they have to it these days is the version with the dark back

  • How does this compare to your Tokai LP??

I remember Tokai being renowned in the 70s for their Strats and have seen the SG in their catalogue which interests me....
