  • i cant believe anyone could be so vile as to make fun of him

  • I was disgusted at what I saw on the TV, our MPs should know better and lead by example , but this was clearly not evident in the commons. Paul you are an inspiration to us all, dont let the bigots in the chamber get to you

  • Paul Maynard is a brilliant MP - any abuse he deserves is unneeded. As long as he does the job well, that is all that matters in my book, and it should be the same situation for everyone else.

  • @ranners21 How is he retarded? Seems quite intelligent to me.

  • @timamor01 I think your use of adjectives was inaccurate, don't worry, I will give you assistance. What you meant to say was 'what a retarded, special case, young man.'

  • Good maiden speech - relaxed, informal, honest and worthwhile. Great job.

  • GO ON MAYNARD!!

  • I was and contine to be impressed by Maiden Speakers. Someone joked about the great Bazalgette family group. I regret I took up the challenge if NOT the drains. Too many manhole covers are being nicked already! lol Cadbury Heath guy too.

This Mr Maynard. Way to go Paul!. Saw you last week.

Subject: but still might squeeze a barbecue in

Anagram: BBC mirthless – I EU Bazalgette - unique

  • What a confident maiden speech, I am impressed and though I'm not a Tory I agree with it all! I am so pleased that Mr Maynard used this opportunity to make such important points especially about long term health care and about education in his community. Wit, passion and compassion come across, not something we've seen much of in the Commons recently so good luck Paul. If he continues with them then the people of BN and C will be lucky to have him.

  • What a confident maiden speech. I am not a conservative but I agree with it all, I am so pleased that Mr Maynard took this opportunity to make such important points especially about long term health care and about education. I hope he will continue this passion and compassion in his career, if so the people of BN anc C will be lucky to have him. Good luck, we have one good new MP at least!
