Gaza tunnels still open for business - 26 Jan 09

One of the main reasons Israel cited for its three-week offensive in Gaza was to destroy tunnels running under Gaza's border with Egypt, which Israel says are used to smuggle weapons into the Strip.

But barely a week after Israeli troops pulled out of the coastal strip, some of the tunnels are already back open for business.

Al Jazeera's Mike Kirsch reports.

They shouldn't even need the tunnels, it'd be smarter for Israel to Open the border for consumer trade that they can moniter. That'd not only show a positive gesture to the Arab population, but cuts down on those tunnels, and the ones still around they can be more sure they're being used to import munitions.
