The bark of ash absorbing the splattered heays of blood
For the return of the sun, a winter sacrifice
Ox, dog, horse, sheep and slave, all offered to the gods
The dusk of grey keeps falling upon the landscape bleak
White gently still the bodies away, hanging in god's tree
The ring of torches lighting up the heath, a ghostly shine

Bathory is and will always be my favorite band. I have the logo tattooed across my back even. One of the happiest moments of my life is when I met Quorthon's father Borje Forseberg (aka Boss) at Wacken '07 at the Blackmark booth. I talked to him about 20 min, and he told me stories about Quorthon, one of him when he was a kid and Borje gave Quorthon a drumset. It was great, yet happy and sad all at the same time. He signed a CD (first album) my Wacken ticket, and gave me another Bathory shirt.
