After many years of dormancy, November 2009 sees steam in action on Nantmawr quarry branch near Oswestry, offering brake van rides along a line which never saw a passenger service. The last quarry train ran getting on for 40 years ago, but the track was not lifted, remaining in situ as the route gradually became a linear forest... The locomotive is the lovely little Beyer Peacock 1827, built in 1879 - just the thing for a line like this.
Quite an achievement; I never ever thought this would happen to this branch.
