"Perhaps This Wintertime"
Once again I find that it's November.
Wintertime is near, and I remember
all the other wintertimes I've been alone.
Beauty of the leaves while they are turning,
marveling at them yet always yearning
for someone to share my life and be my own.
Love that I have known has always ended,
and my heart has slowly mostly mended.
Will there be the one? My future still unknown.
Perhaps this wintertime
my heart will warm
for you will come to me,
I would hold you lightly, like the yellow
autumn leaves that flame and burn so bright though
they will fade away - and maybe you would too.
Maybe there will never be the one love,
just bright colors every year
I will try to smile and hold the beauty dear.
