To travel the Hudson Valley in New York, is to see a Hudson Valley of farmers markets everywhere, like this one in Kingston across the river
Hudson Valley, New York, has colorful cafes and pizza joints And of course the mighty, lovely Hudson Valley runs through the Hudson Valley where small, sleepy villages line its banks.
This is the Hudson River Valley.
But dont let the easy pace fool you
There are interesting inns like the quirky, historic and quite charming Rheincliff Inn or the sprawling old Beekman Arms dating back to 1766
But the Hudson valley has shinning examples of contemporary art like the futuristic Frank Gerry designed Center for the Performing Arts at off beat Bard College
And whimsical touches that give these towns a unique character and flavor.
And if youre talking unique Hudson Valley attractions, how abut the Vanderbilt Mansion, the house Frederick and Louise built back in Americas Gilded Age
But at the end of the day its the beauty of the river and the sky and the hills of the Hudson Valley that bring visitors back to this place of tranquility and small town Americana

  • @ LittleAlejandoKitty...the Hudson Valley is pretty much the land that stretches 145 miles north / south between Albany, NY (the state capital) and New York City...to the east of the Hudson, you got Rensselaer, Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester Counties...to the west you have Albany, Greene, Ulster, Delaware, Sullivan, Orange, and Rockland Counties...you have the Catskills on the west side of the river, and the Berkshires / Taconics on the right side, as far as mountains go...
