February and March are historically the best months for recorded Aurora Borealis sightings by avid photographers. Sometimes the northern lights are seen as a green fog in the night sky or as green and red curtains swirling overhead.
Our still photos came out fine, but my video came out too dark to put onto YouTube.

In 2012 we will operate another of these Iceland and Norway small group tours, off the beaten track, in 3 SUV Super Jeeps. A fully escorted soft adventure designed for people who appreciate the benefits of having local guides, as well as a tour manager who will be with you for the entire journey.

Unlike other tours that are not escorted or are a succession of generic 'seat in a bus' tours strung together, we have created an exclusive journey with unique content that we believe is more personal, off the beaten track and designed for the more discerning traveller.

Limited to only 12 guests, our Iceland half of this journey starts in Reykjavik. Expert local drivers take us in 3 Four Wheel Drive Super Jeeps, which enable us to get off the main road and into some spectacular scenic locations. All our 4x4 vehicles are equipped with satellite navigation and duel radio communication and are heated for your comfort. All accommodation is either 4 star rated or the best available in each location.

Nature lovers will be awe struck by the thundering waterfalls of Iceland, the original Geyser geothermal field from which the name is now used around the world. We will also take you to visit glaciers, a volcano, a horse farm, go bird watching and looking for seals. In Iceland your daily programme is focused on your experiencing as much as possible and getting a real Icelandic nature experience at a steady pace.

In Norway, one of the most sparsely populated countries in Europe, we cruise from far above the Arctic Circle at Kirkenes down through the Norwegian Fjords to Bergen, then tour the sights of Bergen and Oslo.

Norway shares a border to the east with Sweden and to the north east by Finland and Russia with an extensive coastline facing the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea.
