Location: HKMTR - Kowloon Tong Station (KCR Lo Wu Line)

Capacity: 10 Persons/800kg/1750lbs

This elevator actually was a replacement one in the early 2000s in place of the old one dating back to 1983 with the opening of this station.

The filming of the machine room door ventilation grille is to get the sound of the powertrain inside, but nothing can be heard from this. The buttons are of the standard erose design used in lifts at public places. The floor indicator is also of a new type that displays one whole line of text instead of just the direction and floor number.

  • Even trilingually or more! The text can be shown in turns, or in one scrolling marquee. Another advantage of using matrix display indicators is that should the lift go out of service, the whole "OUT OF SERVICE" message can be scrolled through the display instead of leaving the indicator just blank.

  • Those LED matrix displays are nice, especially since they can display messages bilingually.
