720p is not a normal show. It is HD, just not as many lines of resolution as the 1080p. Enhanced tv is 480p standard tv is 480i. the only way to get 1080p is blu ray. Satelite and cable companies all braodcast in 720p. No 1080p yet. the human eye will usually not be able to even tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. 1080p tv's actually have to compress a 720p broadcast so you get a loss in image quality. 720 is the way to go for everything but Blu-ray. !

Question, is a 720p panasonic plasma tv's picture quality just as good as a 1080p Lcd?

Virtually no difference unless you are 2 ft away from it. And Dont Buy Anything unless its a Panny. They have 100,000 hour panel life, compared to 60,000 on all other manufacturers.

btw, plasma screens burns really easy so i recommend not playing games on it . but for advice, try to move around fast in the game and not to pause the game because it tends to burn in and it will leave a mark on your screen for about week.( anything like a logo or your hp bar will leave a mark since it doesn't move)
