As we learn more and more about our oceans it becomes increasingly clear that they are in trouble. The idea that the ocean is an inexhaustable resource is outdated, naive and patently incorrect. Fisheries are collapsing, species are going extinct and habitats are being destroyed and it is all going on un-noticed. Marine concerns receive far less attention and as a result far less funding than terrestrial concerns and yet are no less important. The ocean needs our help and the first step is become more aware of the problems and understand the consequences of doiing nothing.
