@migol1984 1st - we don't have to understand something for it to be true. 2nd - I live in San Antonio where there are many Catholics. They tell me that they are not Christian. 3rd - the church derived from Judaism, but the church is not Jewish. 4th - if anyone (group/individual) does identifies itself as Christian (Catholics do not) it doesn't mean it really is Christian (cults often do this).
@migol1984 some very strong contradictions with the obvious teachings of scripture. Hosea says 'my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge". If you go deep into this topic you certainly will find these statements to be true.
@migol1984 Christ says we are saved through faith, not works. The catholics teach both are needed. Catholics say the pope is the mediator between Man and Jesus then the father. 2 timothy says there is one mediator: jesus christ. Also, MILLIONS were killed during the inquisitions for reading scriptures, or interpreting seperatly from the roman church. The flaws of catholicism are doctrinally present. Therefore, a catholic can be saved, but if he follows the church doctrines perfectly, there are
@migol1984 I would recommend research, catholics can certainly be saved, but it has fundamental differences than the christianity christ spoke of. There are huge parallels between the religious leaders Jesus criticized for oberserving their laws and traditions more so than faith in the father itself. Also, just because catholicism appears to be the 'mainstream' christianity from about 300 ad until the reformation does not mean it is the true faith. The true faith has been perverted by the guise.
@zieglarf i've been protestant all my life and i've just never understood this point of view. every protestant faith derived from catholicism. so to say that catholicism is not christian than what is christian?
@giffydrums I don't mean to bud in, but Catholicism is apostasy. They believe in faith+works, Mary intercession, and believe that the Communion is actually the real blood and body of Jesus.
I needed to hear this as me and my girlfriend are taking a break right now. She's not sure if she's truly IN love with me and wants a future and we know that Christians "court" in order to marry. So it's been hard for me today (Happened yesterday) and the last phrase Mark says really encouraged me to just love Jesus the season that I'm in.
@superlilivanilli Make Jesus the center then go from there. Also: Catholic is a DENOMINATION of Christianity. Just like an Orange is a type of fruit. How does this get confused so often!?
