These people weren't bribed. You have to be old enough to remember... I'm 58. A lot of people didn't like the Doors; not their music, not their antics, not even their dress. Long hair in 1969 was an oddity in America... look at the period newsreels; nearly everyone had short hair; even the young ones.

More importantly, you have to understand that the legend of the Doors is infinitely greater than the Doors ever were in their time... they were just another band then.
