26 Jun 1992 - Just as Blake arrives for Nick and Mindy's wedding, Roger asks her to come help him. Roger explains his situation with Hart, but Blake cannot believe that Ross would use Hart to hurt Roger. Roger wants Blake to find Hart and explain Roger's intentions to him. Roger tells Blake his master plan - getting all his land and money back from Alexandra and building a powerful family empire, Thorpe Communications. And specifically for Blake, he'll lure Alan-Michael to their side away from the Spauldings. Blake still feels that she's only second-best for Roger, despite his denials.
Back at the house, Ross arrives for the wedding, and Holly greets him explaining that she cannot find Blake. Ross steps away to answer some reporter's questions, and Ed asks Holly if she came with Ross.
Blake tracks down Hart and finds him packing, with Bridget trying to talk him out of leaving. Blake tries to explain the situation to Hart, but Hart doesn't want to hear it. Blake tells him how devoted Roger is to him, much more than Blake thinks Roger is devoted to her. Blake leaves Hart, asking him to give their family serious thought before leaving.
Meanwhile, Ed questions Holly about her and Ross, and she explains that Ross is all-consumed with his campaign.
The wedding guests have all gone to the Towers for the wedding reception (even though Nick and Mindy are both missing). Ross notices Blake's arrival. Later, Blake continues her seduction of Ross.
At the stables, Bridget tells Roger he's too late and that Hart already left.

I often wonder why they never pursued Roger building his empire-instead it was the whole Jenna taking over Spaulding story..but even after that, we never saw this come to fruition. I suppose Beverlee McKinsey leaving made the writers change the story?

@liamhen Roger's dream of an empire was always there in the background. He kept changing things up as his family grew (like adding in places for his grandchildren). But you're right that we never saw anything actually come to being. I wonder if tptb even really had an idea, or if that was just Roger's grand plan that kept him moving forward as a character.

Roger and Holly were so messed up, Blake didn't stand a chance. LOL I felt bad for Blake when she told Hart that she thought Roger had done so much more for Hart than he ever did for her. If she tried to please Roger, she disappointed Holly, and vice versa. And then Blake never felt that either parent was really satisfied with her. I wish soaps were still character-driven like this.

I hate this plot-driven crap that GL is using now. I mean, look at real life, people do things because of how THEY are. That's what I loved about the show, up until recently that is.

Seeing this story again in order reminded me how complicated, yet good, it was in a very short period of time. What made it good was a simple plot, but complicated character interactions. You can see Ross and Blake being conflicted, as they respond to this new situation they're in.
ITA about GL being so plot-driven now - Blake has been plot-driven since Ross "died". That is, when they bother to use her.
