Laura Rockefeller was an aspiring actress and singer who paid the bills doing free lance work. One of her jobs took her to the World Trade Center in the early morning hours of September 11, 2001. Although she lived only seven blocks away, we actually never met. But she had the same passion for animals and the arts that I have. The events of 9/11 and Laura's story inspired me to write and record "Early That Day," which is featured on my album entitled "Previously Unreleased." My personal thanks, as always, to Jeff Olmsted for understanding my musical ideas for this song and executing them so eloquently. And thanks to Sammi for her insight and suggestions.

  • Brian, Laura was my best friend in High School - when I visited her Mom and Dad days after the attack, her dog J.T. (named after James Taylor - whom she LOVED) was absolutely lost without her - even hoping that anyone at the door ...was her. But, it was not to be. Her parents - such lovely people were in shock, and her "head shot" was on their fireplace....I was devastated...we had just met for dinner in August...and vowed to get together again soon....I miss her spirit, her love, ...thank you

  • thank you so much for watching and commenting...she is one of many who should not be forgotten and I hope I have helped people remember in this small way...

  • Wow...What a song Brian!--this one made me cry....Did you also put the video together?---The two together are quite impactful!!--You have a way of putting together something so honest---able to conjure up and elicit feelings and emotions in a few measures.....Thank you for sharing!!
