Multnomah County Library is in the 5th year of its five year levy. The levy will expire in June 2012, so the May 2012 ballot is the final opportunity to secure library funding before the current levy expires. With the passage of Measure 26-114 in November 2010, the Board of County Commissioners has a choice to make between referring a library district measure and renewing the library levy.

Sponsored by Commissioners Shiprack and McKeel, the November 8 briefing provided an update on rate projections for both a district and a levy, as well as scenarios for library service in 2012-13 if a funding measure fails.
