SONNET 18
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.

    1- why do i see you on almost everything

    2- as if you are on earth, all humanity

    3- as if you are an endless road

    4- and i'm created to travel it ( the endless road)

    5- if i am running away from you towards you!!

    6- for God's Sake tell me where's the way out ( escape from her love)

  • @bahaaesmael Thank you. I have downloaded an Arabic text-to-speech app on my Android. I will try to record this poem in the next couple of days. Salaam alekhum

  • Brilliant, nowhere else have I heard such a marvellous recitation! :)

  • @iHeartsyMusic Thank you :) Very much appreciated. Please let me know if you'd like to hear anything else.

  • @Jer1967 Thanks for your passionate response. I'm sorry you don't like my reading of this sonnet, but I disagree that only the finest performances should be uploaded. (Which is what you seem to say)

    If you could direct me to some readings that you recommend, I'll be very happy to watch and take note.

    Thanks again for your feedback, I'm doing my best to learn from everyone :)

  • @bahaaesmael "Shukran, ya habibi!" :) It is said that when you attract the attention of idiots that's when you know you're becoming successful. Thank you for your encouragement though: it's most welcome. By the way, is there anything in Arabic that you would like to hear?

  • لماذا أراك على كل شىء

    كانك فالأرض كل البشر

    كأنك درب بغير إنتهاء

    وأنى خلقت لهذا السفر

    إذا كنت أهرب منك إليك

    فقولى بربك أين المفر

  • @bahaaesmael OK, that sounds pretty challenging. What about something easier? I can read Arabic script, but I don't understand much of it. What's a short simple poem that I can try?

  • @Alexandermeister are you sure! i was kidding because you offered to read anything in Arabic so i have chosen one of the most difficult Arabic poems by Ahmed Shawqui ( he is titled as the prince of poets) for you to read as a joke. This poem is named Nahj Al Bourda and it was written as a praise to the Muslim prophet Muhammed.

  • @bahaaesmael Can you send me a link to the text?

  • @Alexandermeister

    i wanna hear nahg al bourda for Ahmed Shawqui
