@beetlemaniacal Lennon was often quite full of it. He mainly tried to later downplay his Beatles work and that of Paul in an effort to clear the decks for his solo career, which didn't last long anyway, as fate would have it.

I was ll yrs old when the Beatles came to America. I cried when I saw them and wanted to run to England to marry Paul. I lived the MAGIC of beatlemania.
