personally i think the music is shitter when the bands a sellout. i mean usually they're actually playing from there heart, sound corny but its true. whereas sellouts the way your describing sellouts, sound rushed and they dont mean it.
like rnb and pop artists on the radio, half dont even write there own songs~

wow, isnt it hard? =\ i find it hard to just sing and play guitar ahaha
-
i think they count that as selling out because being on MTV can mean your mainstream, it also cant but yeahg

yee i agree that albums shouldnt be released like 2,3,4 times a year.
look at thoseartists you hear on the radio. they pretty much release albums like 2 or 3 times a yr
i think that selling out is also bands that go all mainstream and are played on the radio get worse and worse, like Kings Of Leon; they were an amazing band, butonce they were playedon the radio now they suck. they just got worse and worse
and i think thats close to happening to many gd bands like ATL, paramore, etc. :(

ok...an example of selling out is the jonas brothers. they don't have a whole lot of talent but yet, there are millions of people going gaga over them. yea, they can be cute, but that should not be the reason why a person is famous. they just released TWO full length cds in less than a year...that is selling out hardcore.

Your gorgeous. :)

heres my take; if it sounds good to me, im going to listen to it. selling out is exactly as it sounds. bands pumping out albums faster than they should to make $. people look down at it mainly because the band is looking for $ more than pleasing the listeners. i listen to what sounds good to me, even if it did come from a sellout.

Selling out - changing your music style to fit what everyone else likes. Not sticking true to the music you loved once to get famous and make money.
I think the only bands that truly sell out are the ones that are in it for money and not for the music
dude ur the drummer?!?!?! do you sing as well? im not hatin on the drums, im a drummer myself, but u cant sing reall well dude. or do you do like a aaron from underoath type thing where u drum and sing?

i am the drummer, and yes i am the singer. i do both, but its like the devil wears prada (just how much singing they have) i know they dont have a singing drummer, but the singing amout is like that. so its not too much, but yeah i can do it.

Im not quite sure selling out is. Its deffinetly not when a band gets sold to a major record label, because how else would a band get anywhere? Isn't that what you're suppossed to do? I think as long as the band is in it for the music its fine. When they start to just do it for money and reputaution is when they sell out. Like Pete Wentz for example does all this extra crap and seems like he's everywhere using his fame to promote stuff and make money. Btw does your band have a name yet?

wow sooo if somone is good enough to write more than one album in a year there sellouts now right???? thats funny because i thought music was all about musicianship........ but i guess its all about how many album you produce...... bottom line a band sells out when they change their style for an increase in money... other than hat who cares if they make millions......

no no no, its the fact that many bands who HAVE sold out just for the money are the ones who put out shitty albums like every six months, and if you notice..they arent around anymore. the non sell outs are the ones who take a LONNNG time to produce an outstanding record, like rush, orrr all time low..orrr from first to last.
