  • @TRD4age the cams have cam gears. And you can't be serious? Swap pistons? Otherwise it's slow? You do know forged pistons make the reciprocating mass heavier, therefore LOSING power. At this power level, factory pistons are more thannstrong enough.

  • Seems like the 6 speed compliments it well. Stock electronics?

  • Stock electrics, 20V quad throttles, only a 5 speed box.

  • How much power is it making?

  • @Legotruck82 No idea im afraid! but was a great motor, didnt like to rev past 7,00rpm, but made up for it with torque.

  • @BigCarKilla the microtech maps were awful and it was overfuelling like crazy but i disagree - it pulled strong past 7..i just didn't like taking it there cos of the additional stress on the rods with the longer stroke and high rpms

search "01122010014.mp4" on youtube - its a short vid that i took soon after i put the quads in..shows you the revs and the way it pulled

  • @BigCarKilla the motor was running higher comp 10.5:1 hypatec ceramic coated pistons. from memory they are slightly lighter than stock and made out of silicon alloy

  • @TRD4age ...ummmmm....what? what are you on about??

  • @BigCarKilla massively needed a tune too, but did about 149hp at the wheels. I had a microtech lt8s in there but the tune that the slack hacks at maztech did for me was average to say the least (tps vs rpm mapping).

with a decent MAP sensor vs rpm mapping and proper afrs it would have made a fair bit more power

  • @4age20vbt hey - i did the conversion a while ago..but from memory the mounts bolt straight up. 3 of the mounts are on the g/box and I think I bolted the existing right engine mount to the 7afe block with no issues.

the motor sits about 2cm taller, so if you're running the stock throttle linkage you will have to hack into the reo on the bottom of the engine lid a bit. if you run quads you have to re-rout the throttle linkage anyway so you should be right

  • Hows the midrange?

  • I have a question, Did the stock motor and trans mounts bolt up perfectly to the 1.8L block as is does with the 1.6L block? Were there any modifications to the mounts?

  • other wise it will be slow like a stock 4age
