  • @kaylewintress Kayle there are a lot of companies that are hiring. But it can be difficult to find who they are and how to contact them. Go to the site above we have done all the research for you.

  • interesting how much do these jobs pay?

  • @summersunfun345

There are all sorts of jobs. Roughnecks average pay is in the $20 per hour range. But with overtime thats where the bigger money is. Derrickmen make around $30 plus per hour--they get lots of over time too. Drillers make $35-40 per hour with lots of overtime as well. Tour pushers make over 100k per year, Offshore Installation Managers make 120k-150k, rig managers make even more. So these can be really decent paying jobs.

  • Does it have to be off shore rigs? And do you think it can work in a town called Bakersfield California? I'm very interested in working on oil.

  • @adrianadam43

yeah i have a BOSIET and MIST certs and will try to get offshhore as soon as i can. I have list of about 1200 companies and agencies that are recruiting for the industry.

  • Thanks for the info. This might be what I was looking for. I am off to your recommended site

  • To all of you guys wanting to get started in the oilfield, but don't have any experience, you're not going to make as much money as this guy says! I've been in the oilfield for over ten years. Guys with no experience are going to start out making $10 - $12 an hour, and plenty of overtime. If you're willing to work, you can make 50K your first year. But if you're lazy they'll run your ass off. No slackers out here! Good luck to you.

  • I saw info on the news about these jobs recently. Looks like hard work but the pay is pretty decent.
