The reason why rules in their religious culture, along with the government, are different is because, non-religious people like us don't seem to accept things differently. Forbidding a kiss on the lips is a Muslim law in every Arab country in my opinion. I mean, look at the American cartoons/anime shows that the kissing parts were cut off when dubbed in Arabic.
Either accept it or just blame it on religion that made people come up with that rule to make it look bad.
