This is a tutorial for the MV-8800 on how to import and chop a sample. I also show how to adjust the sample so that it will cut off as soon as you hit the same pad or another pad in the traditional MPC style. This tutorial is strictly informational, please rate, comment, and subscribe. www.myspace.com/menaceeffectz

  • Just wondering if you use logic pro, and if you do can you show a tutorial on how to connect to the mv8800?

  • @lucaseje yeh man I dont use logic, but im working on getting my macbook so maybe soon i will

  • you are right on! i love your videos! the manuals are so confusing that things canh be a bitch. question how many gigs of ram u got? and is the usb imjport the same on a mac, say if i want to import a sample from native instrument5s maschine or something?

    peace

  • @wickedmystick I installed a 120 gig hard drive for the upgrade on the MV... And the usb should be the same for a mac...dont know why it would be different....thanks for watching

  • Beautiful bruh! Great explanation on this! Yeah Maschine is a great piece of gear that I was thinking of getting too. I still want an all hardware piece in my setup, so the MV will not be going anywhere! Plus, I just got it not long ago & I always wanted one, so I'm not going to ditch it like that for the sake of simplicity. I also feel that one day the MV will be a very much sought after hardware machine! Thank for this again Menace!

  • @Sinosure no doubt man thanks for looking... Yeh im not too sure what im going to do with the MV... I do like it... so we will see only time will tell

  • Great video. My question for MV users...Do you end up wishing you had the mv8-op1? Or do you find that it has enough outputs. I don't understand why roland did not make the same amount of ouput expansions as units. You know 3000 MV's and 3000 MV8-op1's. When you go to a pro mix-down studio you would have to track them out one at a time through a pro compressor or mixing board. Or maybe people aren't getting that deep w/ their music.

  • how do you create an add point when chopping without a mouse?

  • whats the song of the first song you clicked whe you went into random samples???

  • After you chopped the sample ( i mean not in audio phrase ) , is there another way than tap tempo the sample to play it at a different tempo?

What about the pitch, does it change?

  • u are the bessssssst man.... i understand everything..... everrrrrry thing.... u are good... u should work for roland.... i love mv but i am having a hard time making my beat longer than 4 to 8 and ten bars... i can make them but i wanna jus be able to strench a four bars to eight instead of setting the parameters to eight and punch... its harder that way to get the beat correct...plz help

  • Hey man great vid very helpful! I'm trying to find vids on the bpm sync feature. Need to find the proper way to determine bpm prior to chopping. Hit me back if know of any links or with more details of this feature.

    Thanks!

  • Can you use one of the knobs or faders to change the pitch of the whole sample program (all the pads) at ones and while playing? I do this all the time on my mp, and it's crucial for my beat making process, in order to decide at what tempo the sample sounds the best or to make it fit a certain tempo. So I need to know if I can do this on the MV as well?

  • Thanks, bro.. Getting my 8800 on Tuesday and this help before I get it's awesome.
