All parents want their children to go to the best school. In England, annual League Tables are published, to allow parents to compare pupils' examination results from every school in their area. But do such tables force schools to improve? Or do they put them under unhealthy pressure? And do the tables actually help parents to choose between schools? Professor Simon Burgess of the Centre for Market and Public Organisation at Bristol University has been studying these issues. In this fifth video about the Centre's work in education and health, Tony Coll talks to Professor Burgess, and a head teacher and some parents, about the value - or not - of school league tables.
