My father recalled seeing them play in then rural Lawrenceville, Georgia. We went to see one of Tanner's descendents, grandson I think, play.

.....Happy birthday again Lowe.......glad to hear this dynamic old music on here.....I remember the joy it brought when County records re-issued these on lp many years ago.....I got more into the music ......I guess the depression stopped a lot of these performers.......I think the Skilletlickers last recording was BACK UP AND PUSH in 1934......the music really changed after world war two.....I love bluegrass and other music butTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTI love the oldtimey....

@shal0mnurh0me Yes, this and "Give the Fiddler a Dram" are the same tune. There are also tunes called "Give the Fiddler a Dram" that sound nothing like this.

Does this tune go by the name of "Give the fiddler a dram" as well?
Thanks for uploading this video. Doesn't get any better than Gid Tanner.

They were super good. I wish they had been recorded on video playing together. That would have been neat to see. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a wonderful day, Brian
