My call to ATOS to enquire about euthanasia options for the sick and disabled.

ATOS is the private company employed by the Department of Works and Pensions who's task is to remove 25% of claimants from disability living allowance, and 91% of ESA claimants will be deemed 'fit for work'. When you consider that the government's own estimate of disability welfare fraud is 0.5%, it makes you realise that 199 out of every 200 people who are going to have their disability benefits removed are genuinely sick and disabled people.

So I asked them about their euthanasia options as some disabled and sick people would prefer a clean and painless extermination rather than being forced to die of starvation, neglect or homelessness.

I take it you don't suffer from chronic fatigue, nerve pain, incontinence, random shakes, dizziness and poor balance? I'd love to find work. I have worked all my life and have been very successful with my work prior to falling ill. I would love to get back to those days. x

What really frustrates me is that I,m fairly sure the government is not saving money, paying ATOS, ATOS paying GPs , paying for GPs and lawyers to attend the thousands of appeals. Lets not forget that one day's pay for a GP could probably fund 4 sick people for a week. In my opinion its just another one of the myriad of cases of the middle classes purloining money that should go to the poorest and neediest. Shame on all of them

@lv4ev5 Wrong. Atos are doing precisely what their contract with the DWP tells them. I know someone who worked for Atos doing the assessments, she hated it and left so I tend to believe her. Atos do the assessments based on DWP mandated criteria, then the DWP make the decisions. When the Atos contract comes to an end it will be given to another company, with some window dressing here and there such as involving disability charities in the process. Blame the organ grinder not the monkey.

At the end of the ATOS medical, ask that they read the report out 2 u. DON'T be fobbed off with silly excuses. They've just compiled data about urself, & ur entitled 2 know what's been stated. If it's then clear that many key facts have been overlooked, & that their interpretation of ur disability, & the way it impedes u, is incorrect, point this out, referring directly 2 the descriptors & which 1s match ur (in)abilities. Get ur companion 2 note down everything that's said. Good luck.

@Watcher19921 Facts is not what ATOS are about making many disabled and sick poorer is there a IT firm moron ATOS healthcare should be prosecuted under the trade descriptions act.If they has to be assessments then it should be the NHS not a private racket but of course more would get the correct benefit don't want that do they. The cost of appeals mind you is trebling maybe a idea to scrap the contract save the taxpayer money.
