Dear GOD! That's SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME! :D
-
wow sharna you are so amazing...very very inspiring and creative!
-
@sharnarose -- and for those of us who are primary in poi and secondary in hoop who don't keep up on the hoopla(b) as it were, we wouldn't know this. sorry for my ignorance.
-
@sharnarose damn naming conventions and lack of standardization! :) LOL!
-
@poipriestess Thanks for your comment. I understand the 5 beat with poi is different but it seems that the hoop community have thus far decided that a 5 beat weave with hoops involves a toss under and over to achieve this or a holding grip (see hooplab) hence my use of its name. I really look forward to an actual 5 beat weave with hoops but is is possible :-)

@chewbobington the instructions make sense; the name, in that there is actually a move called a 5 beat weave in poi, is misleading to folks who work interdisciplinarily IMO since this is nothing like how a 5 beat weave in poi actually works. in poi, the 4th and 5th beat involve the hands crossing over each other in a way that is not happening here. so, when someone actually starts doing the real 5 beat weave with 2 hoops, it'll be more confusing. the instructions themselves are clear tho! :)

@poipriestess, she's telling you to execute the three beat weave as you normally would, then after you've done that, you create the fourth and fifth beat with the toss which she describes next. Does that make sense? :)

Hey Sharna -- i'm really confused why the title says 5 beat and the voice over says 3 beat. can you explain? is it just a typo? nothing about the movement looks like a 5 beat. . . thanks! :)

Don't sweat your voice. It's like the uncountable numbers of colors a human eye can see, they are all different, but all are majestic. If everyone sounded or looked or acted the same, humankind would loose its spirit. Your only on the earth for so long in one lifetime, so never take it to seriously by picking at yourself. I hope that means something to whoever reads it. We are made of stars, beautiful stars, and are part of the cosmos, here as light embodied.
sharna, keep shining your light:)

lol...I sat here giggling through the last half because in the slow motion you break it down so much....in the real time I had no idea so many tosses were happening, it all just looked so fluid. It was in that good "OMG, she makes it look so easy" laugh of joy, like when I watch figure skating in the Olympics....and I love your voice.
Can any one tell me why the audio is fine on my mac but appalling when played on my mums laptop?

Your voice sounds great - I love the accent! Your voice was a bit quieter than the music at certain points, but other than that it was perfect! And that wasn't really even a problem, I just wanted to mention it since you are asking for feedback.

@ljaremka Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it :-)

Wow, great tutorial. So much respect for your this skill you have worked hard to build. And I think you have a lovely voice!
I notice that the video content ends around 2:07 but the video continues for a while afterward - Not a big deal only mentioning it because you asked for feedback. :)

Yeah I noticed that whilst editing it, but could not find a reason for it, there was no more film nor any other music, just a glitch in imovie... so I just went with it. I really really really want some decent video editing software :-)
