VERY NICE LOOKING! SO YOU PUT A COAT, LET IT DRY, THEN USED THE STEEL WOOL ON IT? ALSO, WHAT DID YOU USE TO CLEAN/DEGREASE THE WOOD AND HOW DID YOU LET IT DRY BETWEEN COATS? PLEASE REPLY! I WANT MINE TO LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THAT LOL ...

my sight post came centered :D
and im working on my furniture right now, degreased, sanded and applied the first coat of minwax Mahogany Red last night. i got up this morning however and it is still drying. is this usual? or did i not sand enough? i also left it outside last night to dry, i made sure it was going to be a nice night, but maybe the humidity is causing it to dry slower? you have any ideas man? this is the first time ive ever refinished anything '_'

@shinypinknails I think if it has been sitting overnight you should be able to apply a second coat of stain. While I'm no expert, from my limited experience I think letting the shellac dry completely is much more important. If you applied the stain fairly thick it may take a while to dry- who knows, it might already be as dark as you like it with one thick coat. I used some steel wool and lightly rubbed down the stock after staining and each coat of shellac to get rid of any runs or streaks.
