The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the 2008 NBA Finals on Sunday, June 15, 2008.

The Lakers collectively out-battled the Boston Celtics to win Game 5 103 to 98 at Staples Center. Kobe Bryant was great early but Pau Gasol stood up to the challenge against Kevin Garnett.

The Lakers trails the best of 7 game series 2 games to 3. The series now head to Boston for Game 6 and Game 7, if necessary (probably will).
