  • A Very wicked Cadillac 346c.i. flathead V8.

    Nicely done.

  • @MrNelsonb2 Some shermans do have the multi bank motor in them

  • In world War 2, my father was a New Zealand Division tank commander in the Italian campaign and said the Shermans originally came with GM diesels. Then the GMs were all diverted to landing craft in the Pacific war, and the replacement tanks were powered by 5 petrol truck engines synchronised through one output shaft into the transmission. He said this abortion of a power plant gave them endless grief. Then later, the Shermans they used came with a Pratt & Whitney radial aircraft engine.

  • @icecooking the sherman had a c4 continental but mostly had a gaa v8 ford engine chrysler built an experimental 30 cyl engine by fusing 5 6 cyl engines and gm fused two 6-71 diesel engines the gm and chrysler engines never were used in shermans but the gm was used in other applications mainly marine use

  • This is 100% a M24 chaffee series engine. the M5 stuart is the same "base" engine but only the chaffee had the generator sticking out the end with the drive shaft through the intake manifold. I own a M24, so there is no mistaking what this fits. PS I wcould use another NOS motor :)

  • @icecooking sherman had many engines.

  • The radial engine right next to it is a Sherman Continental engine. Have a look on my channel.

  • @icecooking the sherman had many different engines, not just the Continental W-670

  • the Sherman had a radial engine, not a v- something. if you want to see a radial engine, look at a Stearman biplane.

  • NOT a Sherman engine of any type, but a Caddy flathead from a M5 or M24 as dodgebro said.
