@paulbarnes8: I think you need to know more about the difference of Evangelicalism and Conservatism. Henry was catholic but created the Church of England and became more evangelical to get a marriage to Anne of Cleaves from the Holy Roman Empire and became more conservative when that didn't work out.

England, Wales and Ireland didn't become catholic again untill Mary's reign and even then it was changed back by Elizabeth.
