Right after takeoff, supposedly somekind of backwind with the updraft created a rotor just outside the takeoff. Luckily, Sergio Gouveia was filming and now i can have a better understanding of the sensations and can share the knowledge.

I had my hands on the handles in between hands-up/slightly braked. Then i felt a complete loss of tension. I was completely caught by surprise. Without understanding what was happening i held my hands up to see what was the glider reaction. I realised it was turning right and towards the hill. I turned right swiftly and continued rotating away from the terrain.

This is a valuable video to help me enhance my reaction to collapses. I hope this can help someone too. If at least, for young pilots to remember not to let go of the handles right after takeoff because instant action might be required. Using my footrest, i never have the need to use my hands to adjust myself inside the harness.

Ironically, this happened during a SIV course. After this, I went on doing accelerated asymmetric collapses.
