  • Did you manually enter all that data? Or did you export it from another source before importing it into RT Systems? Wondering if there is there a way that I could find someone who already has all this data for my area and is willing to share.

  • @rootraces

I manually entered all of my frequencies into the program before importing them to the radio. It goes pretty quick if you know which stuff you want. Fire/ems/state police You just kinda plug away and since you only have to do it once, its not too bad.

  • WTF !! My programmer said "can't load ftd2xx.dll" what is that

  • @pierrelebatteur Sounds like the Drivers for the USB cable arnt installed properly.

Try running the software CD again and making sure the USB Cable installs correctly. past that, id say contact RT systems to see if they can troubleshoot the issue.

  • Just a clarification, the Yaesu VX-8R will receive emergency service frequencies (Police, Fire), just not transmit on them, or if you have the frequencies, can you transmit? I understand legality is another issue, but does the radio have the capabilities to do it?

  • @smokejumper0110

It Cannot transmit on those frequencies regardless of how you have them programed in.

However, if you perform the MARS mod, it can transmit on them.

  • Great Radio my friend !

  • @KC2UOO That's what I thought. Thanks.

  • @KB3UKTKB3ULN I dont have the software in front of me, but i recall having to go into a menu and there was an option to change the band names. You can also change it through the radio manually by going to the Menu, and then #8 should be band name.

  • Alright, thanks for getting back. Everything seems to be working correctly here and I got some help from some good folks over at QRZ as well. One other question I have is that I was wondering how you were able to rename your bands from "Band 1", "Band2" etc. ?
