Here is small guide for those who still encounter some problems with home FTP Server. It is piece of cake;) I use basic authentication, so computers must be in domain or i can use some special username i create on my localhost for ftp purposes.

  • Until now i don't get it how to have the password actually?

  • @vanshijau Hey it is local user on the pc where the ftp is running, so you create user and add him to the authorization rule.

  • what i need to do in the stage of the password

  • @benjamix2 Hi the Basic authentication uses the local user account. Therefore you should be able to login with the account that is created on the machine which runs the ftp server. You can create special account for it and add this user in FTP site under the FTP Authorization Rules

  • i can't login i did everything you did

  • @benjamix2 Are you getting the connection? Do you have problem with the login when entering the username and password?

  • This is just wonderful. It not only directs how you can create it but also why it is not responding and how to troubleshoot.

  • nvm, login worked! all i need now is to figure out why there is nothing in my directory when i login via filezilla

  • at 1:55, did u use ur password that u use to login with? thanks for the vid!

  • @NateTheGreat555 forward the port, usually 21, through your router to the local IP. Also, be sure to allow it through your firewall. Then, all you need to do is remember your public IP

  • Any way to post this with an external IP so I can use it outside my network?
