Slam Poetry is more monologue sounding, like a speech with flow, alliteration and occasional rhymes; hence the term SPOKEN WORD. If the focus is all on the tempo and having stanzas with equal syllables, then it's RAP (coughthisguycough)

Omar Musa, best thing to happen in Australian hip hop & poetry scene.
This..is not slam poetry. People think they can just rap without music and call it slam. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!
