Slam Poetry is more monologue sounding, like a speech with flow, alliteration and occasional rhymes; hence the term SPOKEN WORD. If the focus is all on the tempo and having stanzas with equal syllables, then it's RAP (coughthisguycough)

Slam means competition you dorks, so yes this is a poem he wrote for the Poetry SLAM..therefore it's slam poetry. Go Omar!!

This..is not slam poetry. People think they can just rap without music and call it slam. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!
