The beginning steps of carving a Djembe. Hollowing out the log and rough cutting the shape of the drum. All done by hand with hand made tools. Very Cool!!!

  • There are now easier ways to make these drums using Machines. But the drums would never be the same.

    i think it was an excellent idea to document this process as not many people know the lengthy and arduous process in making a djembe in Africa
