The Crimson Pirate (USA 1952)
Directed by Robert Siodmak
Burt Lancaster as Capt. Vallo
Nick Cravat as Ojo
Torin Thatcher as Mr. Humble Bellows

Burt Lancaster plays a pirate with a taste for intrigue and acrobatics who involves himself in the goings on of a revolution in the Caribbean in the late 1700s. A light hearted adventure involving prison breaks, an oddball Scientist, sailing ships, naval fights, and tons of swordplay. (Written by John Vogel)

  • someone knows what they are singing when they are working ?

  • The uniforms in this film were wonderful. Every group of troops that chased the Crimson Pirate was dressed in a different color. There was more variety than in John Wayne's Mexican army at the Alamo!

  • @picvert101 SONG OF THE DRUNKEN SAILOR IRISH ROVERS

  • @MrKepponen "Against all flags", 1952, with Errol Flynn is also a wonderful pirate movie. Both are much better than these Disney movies.

  • Best Pirate movie ever compare the other old ones before present.. still here they need to manage things without a green background

Way hay and up she rises Way hay and up she rises Way hay and up she rises Earl-eye in the morning Shave his belly with a rusty razor, Shave his belly with a rusty razor, Earl-eye in the morning! Put him in the hold with the Captain's daughter, Earl-eye in the morning! What do you do with a drunken sailor, Earl-eye in the morning!
  • hAimdal interesting you should say that because the Disney ride pirates of the Caribbean was based on this film. Then the film was based on the ride! There are several scenes in pirates taken strainght from crimson. For instance the upside down boat scene

  • Mighty fine movie! Sure beats Pirates of the Caribbean
