Massed bands and chorus

1.
Waly, waly up the bank,
And waly, waly down the brae!
And waly, waly to yon burn-side,
Where me and my love wunt to gae!

2.
As I lay sick, and very sick,
And sick was I, and like to die,
And Blacklaywood put in my love's ears
That he staid in bower too lang wi' me.

I'd place it on the borders.

  • It's an old english folk song.

  • @Rugby1989Scot I've just found the CD we bought of that trip. Unfortunately it's scratched, so I can't upload any of the rest of the show, but it was 1998

  • I think I was there for this. Maybe 1995ish? I would have been seven or so. I remember my old man going straight to a music shop and buying the pipe music for Waly Waly. And now I play it too.

  • the Northumbrian pipes sounded very out of place.... just stating my opinion.

  • Scotland = Best

  • Scotland seems to have produced the most beautiful and haunting melodies I've ever heard. Thank you, Scotland!

  • I hope this is on itunes. I really, really do.

  • Gänsehaut pur ein super geiles stück ich bin stolz das wir das spielen hammer geil ! auch wenn es sich natürlich nicht so genial anhört wie hier ;-)
