it's too bad that i saw Beyonce's version first cuz i feel like i kno what's gonna happen as the movie plays, but i still love what i'm seein' and these were the days where movies were all about big screen magic! i love this version as much as i love Beyonce's version! Carmen is such a fun story!

Its good to see an african american movie without a ghetto, misery, drug dealers, crackheads, pop lockin, weed smokin, cussin, life dont go my way so i have a proplem with the white man type of movie. We constantly complain about the sterotypes people put on us but look at what is representing us today!!! We are a living contridiction

a tad bit of trivia: durin' the year that dorothy dandridge was nominated as best lead actress she was also the FIRST black to present an award at the oscars in the category of best film editing.
