NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGMENT INTENTED

The Stone Roses were an English alternative rock band formed in Manchester in 1984. They were one of the pioneering groups of the Madchester movement that was active during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The band's most notable lineup consisted of vocalist Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Gary "Mani" Mounfield, and drummer Alan "Reni" Wren.
Their 1989 debut album The Stone Roses was a breakthrough success for the band. The Stone Roses decided to capitalise on their success by signing to a major label, but Silvertone would not let them out of their contract, which led to a long legal battle. The band signed with Geffen Records in 1991, and in 1994 released another album, Second Coming. After several lineup changes throughout the supporting tour, including the departure of Reni and Squire, the group disbanded. [1]

  • @meavid That will NEVER happen, I guarantee it ;)

  • There is something very, very cool about a Stone Roses documentary with a Spanish narrator. It paints Blackpool and Manchester in a whole new light - I can't explain it!

  • @SPLATMARSH17

'Bands i rate include...' That's some funny shit! Laughed out loud when i read that. Nice one.

  • @richymoore yeah but i wouldnt exactly call the seahorses ''successful'' lol

  • @SPLATMARSH17 I was just providing an anecdote. I doubt they would go and attack your house with paint as they are no longer a band, although Ian Brown's at a high level with karate, I've heard. So if anyone does turn up it'll be him.

  • @Waterfall64 Was only kidding those are my enemanem and micheal jackson videos i saved to my favourites from a vast collection. Bands i rate include, Hall + Oates, Simply Red + Englebert Humperdinck (post 68 only) but i am also partial to the cranberries on occasion (funerals etc).

I dont understand your second point tho , are you suggesting that if i made a video about the stone roses they would come round and attack me with paint ?

  • @SPLATMARSH17 Fair enough, I jumped to a conclusion. Begging your pardon, sir. I would be interested to know which bands you do rate.

The Stone Roses did have a mockery video of sorts by a former label they were on. They responded by going down to the owner's house and chucking paint all over his property.

  • @Waterfall64 I didnt favourite those videos, I "made" them (IE RE-edited them) and if you bothered to watch them my views on the merits (or lack of) these videos/records should become pretty clear. Having said this, I dont personally regard the stone roses as any better than mid80's jacko or current eminem and perhaps they are due a "subversive" video of their own ! i am the resurection is a nice song tho. Best wishes, Mr J.A.L B8.

  • @SPLATMARSH17 The Stone Roses are "total crap", but Eminem and Michael Jackson ("artists" you have favourited videos for) are good? Please tell me you are subversively mocking the music industry by doing that.
