i want to get multiple clips from different videos and put them together then effect them i dont want to look through the entire video to find one clip then delete the rest when i want to use it but not now cant there be a way to get the effects of imovieHD to the original imovie that i have?

I have an imac g3 and imovue is so slow on it it takes 20 minutes to put a 2 minute vid! everytime I put titles and stuff it never goes on and neither are the effects! Is there a way to make it faster? please respond!
