is it a good idea to hunt for metal near the base of an old tree? i live near an old school house that has an oak tree that is about 2 meters wide at the base. what do you think? is it worth it?

Not many videos on the GTI 2500. How deep does your GTI go? How well is it to use? Please tell me your likes and dislikes about this machine. I may be selling my CZ-3D Fisher and getting a GTI 2500. Your thoughts please... -Chris-

Depth varies by target size, but I have found coins as deep as 12". Most coins are no where near that deep, so depth is really never a problem. It's very easy to use, it can be turned on from the factory setting and it works just fine. It is customizable so you can notch out targets that you don't want to find. The only problem most people have is the weight. It's a shade heavy, but I got used to it.

mdc2296...Heck yes! Always hunt near old trees...What's it going to hurt? There was a thing on TV the other day where a guy found a gold bar under an old tree. Jesse James was believed to have hidden it. Kids have played on trees for eons and people have pic-nicked under them too. Go for it!
