This is probably the best bassline of all time.

Man you worked with Bob Babbitt ? I'm soooooo jealous even though he would have been tired of seing my poor bass guitar technique
-
I dig your vid's, I know James wasn't easy to cover and you do it very well, thanks for sharing!
-
Your video helped me alot!
I hope to see some left hand work one day.
Or a tutorial. That would be nice.
Best regards!

Fantastic!

i must say from someone who would like to pride himself on graduating from what babbit said was MFU Motown Funk University, this sounds damn tight like the original...keep it up!

not to open the can o' worms, but I'm pretty sure this tune was Bob Babbitt, not James.

Hi - This one's definitely Jamerson - I worked with Bob last year - he's awesome but I'm sure he hasn't claimed this one. Jamerson said this line reminded him of a camel galloping - heh, his way of "seeing" basslines is such a wonderful thing to try to develop.

Fantastic! The tone is extremely close to the original. Are you playing a 62 Reissue?

Thanks - it's a Japanese 62 reissue with active EMG pickups.

where do you buy your rubber mute for the bridge cover? i'm not seeing it listed on the major retailers or ebay.

...it's just a pencil eraser cut into 2 strips about 15mm wide and wedged under there.
