A WWII German U-boat Under Attack by American (PB4Y-1) B-24 Liberator Aircraft. Note the radar pod in place of the belly turret. The Liberator belonged to FAW-7 based in England.

  • I read the sole survivor died not too long after he was picked up by a U.S. warship He died of exposure.

  • @HansTheAtheist Well,it seems he was the sole survivor... I could never be in a sub,no way... :)

  • @RebelSonBand In Chapter X will be found the report on U-848, commanded by Korvettenkapitän Wilhelm Rollmann, sunk 5 November, 1943, in position 10.09 S. - 18.00 W. by 6 U.S. Army and Navy planes based in Ascension Island. A sole survivor rescued nearly a month later was interrogated in Recife. In almost uninterrupted delirium he was not able to cast much light on the history of the boat. (I just used google and copy paste)..

  • @navydc Did the crew of the sub survive ?? 

  • I researched FAW-7 info to find out the U-boat in the video being attacked. The sub is U-848.
