The lyrics (Keith, Skeoch) are posted below:

You know I'm on a slick trip, I'm always ready to kick ass
Up on the stage I'm in a rage, I'm havin' the time of my life
Yes, indeed, what a sweet, sweet life it is

Until some loco two-bit floosie with a Louie Le-Strange
Ain't good for nothin' but trouble
They're just two fools livin' up to their names
And now it's startin' to rain on my parade

You know there's nothin' like the real world to get me down
There's nothin' like the world outside that turns me upside down
It makes me feel like I'm headin' down a one-way, dead-end street

[Chorus:]
There's no way out, no way out of this living hell
No way out, no way out, unless you walk heaven's trail
No way out, no way out of this living hell, livin' hell

You know I had it made in the shade, thinkin' that it's not so bad after all
That's when I woke up, smelled the coffee, I'm back where I started again, yes
And now it's pourin' rain on my parade

No there's nothin' like the real world to get me down, no
One is there to lift you up, one to drag you down
Now, don't you see that we're heading down a one-way, dead-end street

[Chorus]

[Solo]

There's no way out, no way out of this living hell
No way out, no way out, unless you walk heaven's trail
No way out, no way out of this living hell - I guess I'll live in hell

[Chorus]

Yes, it's a beautiful thing

You know, I'm on a slick trip, I'm always ready to kick ass

  • just saw them live last week with sebastian bach and whitesnake. And they were the highlight of the night for me. They ROCKED the shit out of jones beach. They are still amazing, and I hate the fact that many people don't know anything about them.

  • Always loved this song.

What a great dirty opening riff. Actually, this whole album was awesome.

  • I was 19 when this album came out. This girl I was dating was infatuated with Love Song. I bought their Great Radio Controversy and have been a fan ever since. If this band had started in the 1970's they would be as big as Aerosmith. But unfortunately they got lumped in with the hair bands. Its too bad, cuz most people dont know how good they really are. Rock on Tesla.

  • Brian Wheat taught me to play bass and he didn't even know it.

  • Tesla was one of my favorites. Good rock without the spandex/makeup/ridiculous drama. Rock from the 80s gets ridiculed because of bands like Poison/Cinderella et al.

  • Ha one of my dads fav band mine to wtf happen to music

  • Thank you for keeping my teenage memories alive!

  • Always thought this track was their best work, but that big @ssed jacket should have been left in the dressing room.

  • Thought this band was great back in the day. Seen them with Poison back in 1990.

  • Tesla rocks and they rock hard! They stand by their own opinions and rules, are not asshole rockers that talk smack about others, they just want to play their music, which is INDEED AWESOME ROCK & ROLL and have a happy life. Lucky for us, they decided to share their talent with the rest of us which makes us pretty blessed. I've been fortunate to be around for them their whole careers & have had nothing but a blast at shows, & cranking the radio!

    Thank you 'my boyz'!

  • I think I live In hell Farmer69
