Bernhard Ette m.s. grossen Schauorchester, Gesang: Claire Bäuerle - Du darfst mir nie mehr rote Rosen schenken (Dont Dare Bringing Me Red Roses Again) Foxtrot (Michael Jary/ Bruno Balz), Tempo 1940 (Berlin)
NOTE: This song is one of pearls of the duo Jary (composer)/ Balz (text) of the swing era in Nazi-Germany. This lovely swinging foxtrott was made a hit of the year 1940 by the Nazi-Sirene, Zarah Leander. It was frequently recorded by German swing bands (e.g. Erhard Baushke) as a dance tune.
I did not find much about the soloist, Claire Bäuerle. She was an actress and singer mentioned as one of performers in Paul Abraham's Operette „Blume von Hawaii" in Berlin, in 1933.
You can bring me red roses anytime, especiallyif they are "moss roses," as in earlier song. Cheery echoes of pre-war festive Berlin.

Hi B., I'd love to bring you a red red rose from Cuernavaca, but things are looking bad again. I'm more than tired with all that. More on the phone. Love and thanks for your post

Grzegorz,
Love this jazzy orchestra and the vocal, it is Wunderbar!
I really love your video of the Berlin Nachtlife. It sure looked like a Swinging town before Swingtanzen was verboten and the Gotterdammerung! Dankeschone.
