Beth Wood is the North Carolina State Auditor. She and her staff answered some of my questions about the balances in the North Carolina Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. She was very kind, professional and I thank her for her accessibility and transparency.

  • Ed, you are a Saint! I hardly have the patience just listening to these ^#()&%#%

I wasn't picking on you while leaving comments making this office of people as tho they were a poor script to a soap opera.

YOU should be in office, Ed, YOU should be.

I salute you for your efforts.

  • Thanks! I didn't take any offense to your comments - they're quite funny. Running for office is something I have considered. I've learned that it takes a lot of money and a lot of volunteer help to get any where close to holding office. I don't have much of either, unfortunately. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

  • Oh, yeah! Those pesky abandoned gas stations!! There just littering up every street corner, oh, my. Yes, sir, we gotta think of SOMETHING to say!!!! We're feeling hot around the collar, here!

Oh, yeah, we will correct your pronunciation on CAFR vs CAFR, AHA!! There punk, how do ya like them apples!! Now, boy, you just go home and fergit you ever came in this here office....how DARE you find out what we do with our, uh, your money. After all, it took us 3 people to confront you here today!

  • LOL! You will obey! (No Agenda - Podcast; listen, very informative and fun to listen to.)

  • Im surprised these govt thugs even let you in that room to discuss their fraud. Especially with a video camera. Also love how the mystery man avoids ever showing up on camera.

  • These folks are hiding Ed!!! They know you are onto them! just watch there reactions, It is like they are waiting for you to drop the bomb!

  • @ednraleigh Jesse Ventura spent $300,000 on his successful bid for Governor - truth and honesty are an effective multiplier of campaign funds. The main reason politicians need so much money is so they can mount a Goebbels' sized LIE.

Watching this makes me LIVID. While people literally SLAVE, these psychos steal EVERYTHING.

I bet you could win - just wear a bulletproof vest.

  • I wonder how it feels to be a TOTAL FRAUD.

LIARS like these look especially good in JAIL.

  • lying crooks

  • I commend this fellow on his "cool" tempermant in asking the questioning rather than simply picking up the table and smashing them all on their heads with it.

  • I could not agree with you more. Then these lying scoundrels will face someone that their lies cannot penetrate. Post this everywhere so the criminals in gov get brought into the light! There is no doubt that these liars are CONCEALING THE TRUTH with foolish and RIDICULOUS DOUBLE-SPEAK.

  • I'd like to see Walter Burien interview these yahoos.

  • They look nervous, because they are afraid he will hit them with the gotcha question, and as auditors they will have to acknowledge it. In Mich they say were broke, but they know money is growing in their coffers, but they are in programs, or funds. In 2005 the pension fund had 8 billion added through investments, and paid out 5 billion, and rolled the 3 billion back into the fund for reinvestment.

  • I am glad you are investigating this, but there doesn't seem to be any "gotcha" moment. Was this just a learning experience for you? Are you going to go back better informed? You just don't seem to be getting anywhere, I hope you regroup and keep at it! Could you take Walter with you? Maybe he could get them to "crack"!
