Here is yet another of our early recordings which was made before we had video capability. This was a great challenge for Tim and I both because we both had to exercise. Before we recorded this song I had only played the main riff of the song and so I had to learn to play a guitar solo which would come somewhat close to that of Ritchie Blackmore's....yea right. HAHAHA. I think mine comes pretty close, but obviously not as good a Ritchie's. Rather than attempt to play the original studio version the whole way through, I decided to inject a couple of things that I've heard him play in live recordings which I think worked very well for me. Tim did a fantastic job of working out on the drums, capturing the essence of the heartbeat of the song.
One problem facing us was that this song was really going to need a good organ player to make it sound respectable, and so I called upon my friend, and EMP band mate, David Presley who happily applied his skills toward capturing a great John Lord sound for us. Thanks for your awesome help, Dave...YOU DA MAN!
We hope you will enjoy this...Deep Purple was considered one of those bands which helped to usher-in the Heavy Metal era. Most of us from my generation sort of considered them to be sort of a Metal Band back in the day before the advent of the actual Heavy Metal genre. It is really too bad that the original band split up a few years after they became very popular. I guess that as long as there are humans co-habitating there will always be differences of opinion that will be just too difficult to reconcile.
You guys are so talented, why not write your own music and perform that?

There are some original songs which haven't yet been put to video. I have one on my profile video list called NAWLINS if you'd care to check it out. It's one where I play all of the instruments though. I currently have an instrumental jazz project that is still in the oven at this time that I hope to get out sometime soon. Other originals: Get Your Mojo On, More Hot Sauce, Brotherhood of Steel, and Fire Within. Check my video list. Thanks for your comment. LC

@hadododo6 Oversight on my part...sorry about that. The bass player on this one was Larry Curtis, the same guy playing the guitars and doing the singing. :D
