I have bee nteachign at a resort for around 4 seasons now, and I can say, on average people pick up both sports equally as well.

some people still hate on the sport thier "opposite", but in my opinion that is simply ignorant. there is nothing homosexual about skiing and nothing retarded about snowboarding, they are both equally fun sports which are equally as fun to watch.

Skiers can be bitches too. When snowboarders are on cat tracks or just any flat run skiers are always the ones who find it convenient to slalom hard. Its really about the rider though. Both skiers and snowboarders can be bad. Its more of a matter of awareness and mental capacity

I've been boarding for 5+ years and even I hate it when douches (of either sport) stay in the middle of a run. Personally I don't mind having to strap in, it takes like 10 seconds and gives time to soak in the sights and chat with friends. And "messing up the snow"?! Seriously wtf is up with that. Everyone stop the hating and stop comparing skiing to snowboarding and vise versa. Grow up, this shit is for fun and having a good time and NOT being a bunch of assholes to someone from the other sport

@jeroliver so what it takes a bit to put their bindings in? you could atleast be patient, they have to wait and bend down and buckle those things up themselves, it takes away from their time too so stop bitching. and yes it is annoying how some people sit in the middle of the hill

I board and ski. it's fucking annoying waiting for boarders to get their bindings strapped up. So when I do board I strap those things up quick and get riding. oh, and I don't sit around in the middle of runs. gtfo of the way.

messes up "your" snow? I work for a mountain, teaching both snowboarding mostly with a little skiing on the side, and would never employ an attitude like that. The snow doesn't belong to anyone.

@Elsweyr666 again it messes up our sno and my qualifications i often train with profesional skiers and hav takin many training courses with P.S.I.A. (profesional ski instructors of america) and hav already passed to get my lvl 1 once i turn 16

@ILivForFun 13 year old instructor...? What are your qualifications? If you had snowboarded for 7 years you might be saying the opposite too, boarders carve up back country and park just as good as skiers. Grow up.... even though ur a baby :p
