These are the 15 pumpkins our family carved for Halloween 2007. 9 are real pumpkins and 6 are foam pumpkins. The foam pumpkins are the last 6 in the slideshow. This is the first year we have done foam. It takes the same amount of time as the real ones and the same effort, you just get to keep them longer. They are much more defined and crisp as you can see in the pictures. Some of these took 3 hours and some took 8 hours to carve. Yes, we use patterns. We are not artists. We just enjoy doing it and having other people enjoy them. Sponge Bob was done by our youngest carver, a grandson that is 12 years old. We have 3 generations doing these now.
I LUV your werewolf,do you have a pattern or somethin' else?

Thanks, the werewolf is one of the most popular. We use stencils, transfer the pattern by poking holes, then carve, very patiently. We have been using foam pumpkins the last 2 years. Same procees, but you get to keep the pumpkin.

Last time I revealed the name of a song, my video was yanked because I was told there was a copyright infringement. So, I guess I can't reveal my sources.

I don't know what you mean by computer designed or fake. We use a picture of the character laid on the pumpkin and punch hundreds of holes on all the lines and then take the picture off and spread flour over the surface to see the pattern. No computer there. Then we carve by hand with a little blade. It takes several hours and patience to do one. Nothing fake about that. Thanks for taking a look.
